For Doulas
Birth Trauma Coaching & Processing Workshops
For Doulas, Aspiring Midwives, Midwives, and Birth Workers. Group or Individual Sessions
Birth trauma coaching and processing workshops or individual sessions offer support for participants navigating challenging birth experiences.

These workshops provide a supportive space to review medical events, management, and chronology of events from a highly experienced nurse-midwife of over 20 years across home, hospital, and hospital-birth center settings. Participants are invited to bring questions or cases that may have left them carrying emotional weight after supporting clients through complex or difficult births.

Before becoming a Certified Nurse Midwife, I worked as a doula. Throughout my midwifery career, doulas have frequently reached out to discuss births that felt troubling, confusing, or emotionally unresolved. Those conversations—about specific cases, difficult moments, and lingering questions—became the foundation for this workshop.
The goal is to help doulas and emerging midwives better understand and learn from upsetting experiences and integrate new perspectives into future births to not repeat the same outcomes..

Using guided discussion and a midwifery-informed lens, participants explore how medical events, clinical decision-making, and emotional responses unfold during labor and birth—and how trauma can affect both clients and care providers. The work supports developing the ability to distinguish one’s own emotional experience from that of the client while maintaining thoughtful, grounded presence in practice. Workshops are practical and reflective, offering language, perspective, and tools that support resilience, professional growth, and confidence at future births.
