For Doulas

Birth Trauma Workshop, Group and Individual Sessions!

Bring your challenging cases and questions, and I will help you process and reframe the trauma you took home with you after your birth/s.

Doulas will have an opportunity to debrief on their cases for all birth settings and explore the origins of their trauma by understanding the medical management and chronology of events and emotions that unfolded. This will be a supportive, educational, and inspirational opportunity to discover new skills, perspectives, and tools to separate yourself from your clients' trauma. Doulas learn how the patient’s trauma evolves and creates impasses during labor, impacting them.

Why attend? While most birth doulas do not have medical or midwifery training, this forum will provide you with new information and ideas that will ground you, allow you to stand out from other practices as you become better prepared and skillful for your upcoming births. Your insights will keep your doula practice relevant, safe and exciting, so you may boast that you are a safe and midwifery-mentored doula. This workshop helps your client to reduce trauma, interventions, and thus you will help reduce maternal morbidity and mortality.

This workshop is for you if:

-You have recurring emotional issues and patterns that come up at births

-You have cases that did not go the way you or your client anticipated and want a case

review about the events that unfolded and trauma caused to you and your client

-You often think after a birth, “What if…? Could we have had a different

outcome?”

-You want a midwifery perspective to help your clients avoid the operating

room

-You want to talk about your labor triumphs.

-You want to separate yourself from an increasing influx of doulas

-You have thoughts about pursuing a career in midwifery and want support

-You want to add “midwifery mentorship” series on your website/resumé

-You want to learn new insights, gain education, expand and hone your

skills

and knowledge base, gain a deeper understanding of the midwifery model of

care, and midwifery management from a highly experienced midwife of over 25

years
